Defying gravity,

Had never crossed my mind,

Until I was taken up into the sky,

I came across a light,

One that I had been searching for,

I knew it would never close any doors,

Just pulls me in,

And never lies.

Every day I am certain,

This light will follow me,

A bond that can never be broken,

Because life can take you in circles,

And light only pulls you high,

But never twist into a black hole,

It will consume your soul,

Never again will I let that happen,

I know you will always glisten,

It always has time to listen,

And to lift me up and up,

No more dark spaces will,

Steal my shine,

Defying gravity,

This star is forever mine.
