Sometimes, when I’m alone and I’m working on a story, I find myself getting stuck. I could be trapped on a specific scene, not sure on where to take it, or second guessing a character, wondering if their dialogue sounds right or not. In those times I think to myself It sure would be nice to hear someone else’s opinion about this. Well, the Greenspring Review Biweekly Write-In’s was my saving grace.

The Greenspring Review Biweekly Write-In is a place where everyone can come together to create, discuss, and just have fun. You can get some fresh feedback on a story you’ve been working on, or simply discuss your favorite book with others. Some people come to just get homework done in a fun atmosphere while other’s like to draw. Regardless, it’s a place where creative minds can come together and relax.

When I saw the flyer for the first meeting, I was instantly interested. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get some outside eyes on what I was working on and hear some of their opinions, so I went to the first meeting. I was greeted by the Greenspring Review’s Editor-in-Chief, Josie, and welcomed by other participants. From then on, we all chatted and wrote. I showed them the story I was working on and they gave me very helpful feedback! We talked about our favorite books, how our semesters were going, and, all in all, had a great time.

It was such a fun and helpful environment, which is why I find myself going to every meeting now, even if I don’t necessarily have anything to work on. Anyone can join in and it’s a perfect place to make some new friends.
